Posters & art created for non-profits and special occasions

LCC Writing Guide - The Brief Penguin Handbook

I had entered a piece of artwork into a competition to be on the cover of the college's new, official writing guide, published by Penguin books. As it turned out, I won the competition and this became my first published piece of artwork.

The artwork was a simple silhouette of a tree, with the phrase "Knowledge grows like fruit on a tree, pick some today" creating the canopy of the tree across the top. The roots and branches were made up of well known phrases such as "Once upon a time", "In the beginning", "We the people", etc.

Lower Columbia College 'Art 162'

When Lower Columbia Community College requested that I create a poster to advertise their Adobe Photoshop class, I jumped at the opportunity.

I provided all the artwork, scans and original photographs for the project and it was received quite well.

Humane Society 'Paws to Adopt'

The local branch of the Humane Society was running a new 'Paws to Adopt' program and needed some fresh ways to share their message. I felt that posters would be a great way to advertise so I offered my help.

I used a combination of photographs that I took along with some stock photography to create this poster.

CASA 'Help My Voice Be Heard'

I was asked by one of my college professors to work freelance on this project for CASA of Longview, Washington.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a national association in the United States that supports and promotes court-appointed advocates for abused and neglected children in order to provide children with a safe and healthy environment in permanent homes.

KLTV 'Beginning Video Production'

I created this poster as a project for KLTV tv studio in Longview, WA. This poster incorporates photographs I took as well as artwork that I had created.

At the time, KLTV was offering video editing classes aimed at teaching students, and the local community, how to shoot and edit video with broadcast television in mind.

WAUNA Federal Credit Union 'House of the Damned'

I was hired to create this poster for Wauna Federal Credit Union's haunted house that took place in Clatskanie, Oregon. The background is a photograph that I took of the skyline over Clatskanie.
